AASA Magazine Wins National Honors

Alexandria, Va., July 30, 2013 ­– AASA, The School Superintendents Association, is pleased to announce that its monthly magazine, the School Administrator, has received national recognition in two publication competitions.

The magazine earned honorable mention in the monthly magazine department category of the 2013 Tabbie Awards for its monthly Ethical Educator column, which was introduced in 2012. The Tabbies, a national contest with almost 500 editorial and design entries, is administered by the Trade Association and Business Publications International. The magazine’s Ethical Educator entry is represented on the TABPI website, as part of the new awards listings.

School Administrator also earned an Award of Merit in the National School Public Relations Association’s 2013 Publications and Electronic Media Contest in the magazine category. AASA submitted the September ’12 issue (theme: Global Achievement).

The NSPRA contest attracted nearly 700 entries. The Award of Merit is the second place award. NSPRA has posted its 2013 honors in the various categories.
