Global K-12 Education Research Alliance's 5th Annual Conference

 

An AASA delegation attended the Global K-12 Education Research Alliance's 5th Annual Conference at the Shijiazhuang Foreign Languages School in China from October 13 to 14, 2019. Focused on the theme of "Cultivating Student Leadership," 35 experts from China, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Singapore and Costa Rica shared their innovative ideas and best practices. More than 500 educators, including 54 primary and secondary school principals, Chinese and foreign education experts and 55 foreign language school councils in 14 provinces in China, attended the conference.

Seven U.S. educators from AASA were invited to make keynote speeches at this conference: Dr. Susan Enfield, Superintendent of Highline (Wash.) Public Schools; Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings Jr., Superintendent of Alexandria (Va.) Public Schools; Dr. Andrew Morrow, Assistant Superintendent for West Hartford (Conn.) Public Schools; Dr. Nicholas Polyak, Superintendent of Leyden (Ill.) Community High School District; Dr. Tatiana Bonuma, Assistant Superintendent and Principal of Leyden (Ill.) Community High School District; Dr. Michael Lubelfeld, Superintendent of Northshore (Ill.) Public School District; and Ruth Allen, Junior Ambassador Program Director from Creighton (Ariz.) School District.
