Knowing and engaging your community is extremely important to the success of an urban school leader.  How would you engage your community when volatile issues arise in your district?    

Cigna Fellowships will be offered to candidates on a career path to becoming an urban superintendent within three years after completion of the Academy.  Attach a brief narrative which highlights your aspirations and plan of action to become an urban superintendent, and include a note from your superintendent in support of your leadership goals.

Howard Tuition Information:

  • Program fee is $6,000 which includes an assigned mentor, all course materials, catered meals during the Academy meetings, access to all online course materials, collaborations tools and relevant resources jointly issued AASA/Howard University certificate, continuing education units from Howard University and Registration for the Annual August Urban Superintendents Academy Conference
  • Travel, lodging, and meals for in-person meetings are the responsibility of the participants.

 

 

AASA Cancellation Policy:

To receive a refund, cancellation requests must be received in writing no less than 14 days prior to a program start.  Refunds are not granted for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure. AASA is not responsible for weather related cancellations, airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by attendee that are associated with the program. A $100 processing fee applies to all cancellations.
