Alex Mayszak
As the Director of Digital Learning & Innovation for East Moline School District #37, Alex Mayszak is leading the charge in preparing students and staff for a digital world. He has spearheaded initiatives to improve future-ready skills, including increased student access to project-based design thinking with 3D printers, coding drones for flight, embedding computer literacy skills across all content areas & grades, and implementing keyboarding curriculum that has resulted in consistent student growth since inception. Working with his team of Digital Learning Specialists, Alex has expanded professional learning opportunities for all staff through in-person sessions and asynchronous modules, building out capacity on a range of topics including artificial intelligence.
Alex received his B.A. from Augustana College and his M.S.Ed with Principal Endorsement from Western Illinois University. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Education Policy, Organization, & Leadership. Prior to his current role, he served as an elementary school principal, as well as a middle school and high school history teacher. Outside of the educational space, he volunteers his time with Camp Kesem and the Golden Apple Foundation. He is passionate about pizza and is a certified pizzaiolo through the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli.
