American Rescue Plan
Guidance, policy updates and actionable resources for schools & districts receiving American Rescue Plan funds.
School Nutrition
AASA supports and advocates a federal school nutrition program that balances the critical need of providing nutritious meals in the school setting with the systemic realities of administering a program.
School Staff Shortages
Nine out of every ten school districts nationwide report up to 10% of their instructional staff positions are unfilled as we move into the 2022-23 school year, according to a survey administered by AASA. In addition, one in five district leaders report staff vacancies are 6-10% higher now than a year ago.
E-Rate & Technology
AASA has long supported and championed the E-Rate program for its work to transform and support broadband connectivity in schools. We work closely with the FCC to support policies aimed at closing the homework gap through equitable access to technology and internet.
Title IX Regulations
AASA has long been vocal about the importance of having effective and successful implementation of the U.S. Department of Education's upcoming Title IX regulations when they are released, including ensuring the Department commits significant resources to technical assistance at the K-12 level.
