Chala Holland
Chala Holland is a lifelong learner with a passion for students, teaching and learning. She has led and supported multiple districts in efforts focused on improving and enhancing growth outcomes for all students and has led extensive efforts focused on equity and student belonging. Merging her academic interests with her work as a practitioner, Chala continues to examine the relationship between leadership, transformational organizational change and issues of equity. She served at Evanston Township High School (D202) as a teacher and administrator for ten years, at Oak Park and River Forest High School (D200) as the Assistant Principal for Instruction for four years and at Lake Forest High School (D115) for six years as Principal. Chala most recently served as an Assistant Superintendent in Naperville Community Unit School District 203.
Chala has a BA in Secondary Education with a concentration in History from Northwestern University, an MA in Social and Cultural Foundations in Education from DePaul University and an EdD in Urban Educational Leadership from University of Illinois at Chicago. Chala is currently completing a PhD in Educational Policy Studies at University of Illinois at Chicago.
