David Law

David Law is the superintendent of Minnetonka Public Schools, one of the top school districts in Minnesota.

Law earned a BA from Hamline University with a major in mathematics and a minor in education. His teaching career includes experiences in California and Minnesota at the middle school and high school level. In 1998, he began his administrative career. Over the following 12 years, he worked in Mounds View, Anoka-Hennepin and White Bear Lake school districts as a middle school administrator. Law completed his k-12 principal and superintendent license at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and earned his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2010, he was named assistant superintendent for White Bear Lake Area Schools. He spent eight years as superintendent for the Anoka-Hennepin School District, the largest school district in Minnesota. In 2022, he accepted the role of superintendent of Minnetonka Public Schools.

Law has been an adjunct professor at both Bethel University’s Graduate School of Education and at the University of Minnesota in the Organizational Leadership and Policy Development Department. He has served on the Anoka Ramsey Community College Advisory Board, the American Heart Association Board, is a member of the Excelsior Rotary Club and has served as a board member for Greater Twin Cities YMCA. He has also served on the Minnesota Association of School Administrators Governing Board and was elected President for 2019-20. He was elected by his peers to represent Minnesota on the American Association of School Administrators Governing Board and has served on the AASA Executive Board. Law is also a member of the Association of Metropolitan School Districts Executive Board and was board chair for the former collaborative, TIES. Law was named Minnesota Technology Education Teachers Association Administrator of the Year in 2017 and was named 2019-20 Superintendent of the Year by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators.
