Dennis Peterson

Dennis Peterson is a retired superintendent with over 50 years of experience in public education.

Superintendent for 52 years, starting in 1967 and ending in 2022, in Minnetonka, Minnesota (21 years); Princeton School District in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio; Rockwood School District in suburban St. Louis, Missouri; Laramie County District in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mitchell, South Dakota; Mounds View School District in suburban St. Paul, Minnesota; Southland School District in Adams, Minnesota; and Bison, South Dakota.

South Dakota Superintendent of the Year in 1985

Minnesota Superintendent of the Year in 2009

ERDI Superintendent of the Year 2007

Named as the “Builder of Legacy Impact Hall of Fame” award recipient by HumaneX in 2020
