Jay P. Goldman

Editor, School Administrator, AASA, The School Superintendents Association

Jay Goldman joined AASA in 1989 as managing editor before rising to editor of School Administrator magazine in 1992. In this role, he manages the leading periodical in the United States that serves the particular needs of public school superintendents. He also serves as editor-in-chief of Conference Daily Online, the multi-media electronic newsletter that provides comprehensive coverage of the AASA National Conference on Education.

Both publications under his leadership have received multiple honors in national publication competitions involving association and trade groups across the country.

Goldman worked as education beat reporter for the Syracuse (N.Y.) Herald-Journal for nine years. He has served as an adjunct professor for nearly 30 years at the University of Maryland’s Merrill College of Journalism. He is a longtime board member of the Maryland-D.C. Scholastic Press Association.

Goldman is a graduate of Haverford College and holds a master’s degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication.
