Jill Woerner
Jill Woerner is the Senior Director of Education and Outreach to Schools for AFS Intercultural Programs USA. This role follows Jill’s high levels of involvement in world language and intercultural education inspiring students as a classroom teacher, developing teachers as a school administrator and nurturing school leaders as a Global Learning and World Languages Specialist at the Indiana Department of Education. Jill has worked closely to establish various statewide initiatives such as Indiana’s Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency and dual language grant program. Ms. Woerner has also worked tirelessly with students and educators within and beyond Indiana to increase global readiness in schools by creating a 1:1 teacher exchange program and connecting all parties working toward intercultural competence. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a variety of state, regional and national organizations focused on building global competence and biliteracy among students and educators. In 2025, Jill was awarded the Founders Award by the Central States Conference demonstrating her commitment to quality professional development for educators in the world language field.
