Kristi Wilson Ed.D.
Dr. Kristi Wilson served as superintendent of the Buckeye Elementary School District in Buckeye, Arizona for eleven years facilitating the delivery of an outstanding education for approximately 6,000 students and nine campuses. Prior to her superintendency, Wilson had a robust educational career as an assistant superintendent, executive director, special education director, school administrator, teacher, and adjunct professor. Her passion and transformational leadership has helped design new schools focused on the lens of the learner and overall systematic change.
Dr. Wilson is a well known advocate for building relationships, leveraging talents and empowering communities to take risks ensuring all stakeholders are committed to lead by example. Dr. Wilson is one of the nation’s top thought leaders in public education.
Dr. Wilson believes in the concept of service beyond self. She was elected 2019-20 president of AASA, The School Superintendents Association and served as president of the National Minority Student Achievement Network in 2018-2019. She serves on the Executive Board of Arizona’s Business and Education Coalition, as well as other local civic professional service commitments. She was honored in 2023 for making a difference with vision towards a future for Ed Tech by the Consortium for School Networks (COSN) Impact 30. In 2021 she was named superintendent of the year for Arizona and in 2018 she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona PTA. Dr. Wilson is in the final stages of writing a book on how superintendents navigated COVID-19 which will be published in March, 2025.
In her spare time Dr. Wilson likes to play golf with her husband and spends time with their bernedoodle, Cooper.
