AASA Leads Letter to Congress on Increased Reimbursement Rates for School Meals

Today, AASA, with 17 other national education, nutrition and child welfare organizations, sent a letter to Congress urging them to extend the additional reimbursements from the Keep Kids Fed Act that are set to expire on June 30, 2023. The law provided an additional 40-cent reimbursement for school lunch, 15-cent reimbursement for school breakfast, and 10-cent reimbursement for meals under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for the 2022-2023 school year. In the letter, we implore Congress to extend these provisions for another year and provide necessary support for the 2023-2024 school year.
