Presidential Transition & Inauguration Resources: C-SPAN Classroom
January 02, 2025
Just after the election, I sat in a meeting with a team from C-SPAN. One thing I learned that day that stuck with me is that the C-SPAN audience is 30% independent, 30% Democrat, 30% Republican, and the rest is other. It is the most diverse viewer audience in the nation, and the only other viewership with such cross-cutting political representation is the Super Bowl.
C-SPAN offers a robust set of resources to school and classroom leaders. Their program, called C-SPAN Classroom, offers free education resources featuring @CSPAN's programs including current events videos, Lesson Plans, Bell Ringers, Constitution Clips and ‘On This Day’ in History events. As we move through various policy discussions with the new year, new administration, and new Congress, we’ll share related resources your districts can use.
First up? Presidential Transition and Inauguration Resources. Related to the upcoming inauguration, check out their Campaign 2024 Featured Resources site for 50+ video clips, bell ringers, and lesson plans about the first days of the new Congress, the counting of Electoral College votes, the presidential transition, and more.
