AASA Aspiring Superintendents Academy®
for Female Leaders

The AASA Aspiring Superintendents Academy® for Female Leaders is a powerful vehicle to put female leaders in the driver’s seat of their career. The Academy brings together women who are on the path to the superintendency to build knowledge and confidence in their ability to lead. The goal of this unique opportunity is to create the time and space for learning, connection, and introspection. Directing the Academy are female superintendents with demonstrated expertise leading innovative school districts with a record of improving learning for all students.

This academy is focused on building the unique skillset needed to succeed in the complex role of the 21st century superintendent. Participants will engage with experienced and successful female leaders who will serve as instructors and mentors. Cohort members will become part of a strong, growing network of educators who will provide encouragement and inspiration now and into the future.

Program launched October 2019. Please check back in January for Academy 2020

Who is Encouraged to Apply?

Female leaders who aspire to become superintendents are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to building leaders and central office professionals. Superintendents are encouraged to nominate women with high potential for serving on district leadership teams.

Participation will be limited to 30 per cohort. Applications will be screened for the highest quality candidates. Those selected for participation in the program will be outstanding, high-performing leaders whose next logical career moves would be to the superintendency.
