Ohio Superintendent Paul Imhoff Named AASA President-Elect

Alexandria, Va. – (July 6, 2020) – Paul Imhoff, superintendent of Upper Arlington Schools in Upper Arlington, Ohio, was sworn in today as the 2020-21 president-elect of AASA, The School Superintendents Association. 

AASA is the premier organization for the nation’s superintendents serving thousands of education leaders throughout the U.S. An AASA member since 2007, Imhoff was elected to the organization’s Executive Committee in 2017 after serving for five years on its Governing Board. Imhoff has led Upper Arlington Schools since 2013. He previously served as superintendent in Mariemont, Ohio, for six years.

“Throughout the public health crisis, I have never been prouder to be a public school educator and part of AASA, the organization that represents our nation’s public school leadership,” said Imhoff. “As public school leaders continue to reinvent education on behalf of every child, I look forward to serving our membership in this new role.”

His post-secondary education includes three academic degrees: Ed.D., Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, 2018; M.S., University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, 1995; B.S., Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, 1990.

“With the nation’s school systems working tirelessly to develop safe and healthy ways to reopen their school buildings in the midst of this crisis, Paul is going to be a strong asset in that process,” said Daniel A. Domenech, executive director, AASA. “Paul is a longstanding member of the AASA family and I look forward to working side-by-side with him as we serve the children of this country.”

Kristi Wilson (formerly Sandvik), superintendent of the Buckeye Elementary School District in Buckeye, Ariz., was also sworn in today as AASA president. The installation ceremony was held in conjunction with AASA’s virtual Legislative Advocacy Conference.
