San Antonio, Texas – Feb. 13, 2023 – Superintendents, school district administrators, journalists, communications officers and other advocates of public education can follow the primary activities of AASA’s 2023 National Conference on Education (Feb. 16-18) in San Antonio, Texas, through Conference Daily Online.
The award-winning, e-publication will carry four issues of coverage—in advance and during the event—with short news stories about speakers, AASA award winners, exhibit hall highlights and AASA presidential candidates, as well as photos, brief video clips and daily blog postings by four AASA members about their experiences. Each issue will be produced by AASA staff with the help of a select group of professionals and 10 student interns—journalism students from area high schools and universities who hope to enter the field of news reporting as a career.
“For more than 30 years, it has been a professional honor and privilege for me to report on a wide variety of activities generated at our national conference,” said Jay P. Goldman, editor-in-chief of Conference Daily Online. “Considering that sessions and speakers will delve into the most pressing issues facing school district leadership, our publication will have considerable value to advocates of public education throughout the country.”
A pre-conference issue with preview stories about various facets of the event, including the superintendent job fair and the expanded exhibit hall with its more than 300 product and service booths, is already accessible on the site.
Last year, AASA’s multimedia publication received the gold medal from the 42nd annual AM&P Network EXCEL Awards in the On-site Convention Daily category. The EXCEL Awards are the largest and most prestigious nationwide program recognizing excellence and leadership in association media, publishing, marketing and communications.
