Boyé is serving as the first General Speaker on Feb. 16.
“The leaders of our nation’s school districts are keenly aware that effective social media strategies are an integral component of their overall administrative plan in order to keep faculty, staff, students and families informed throughout the school year,” said Gayane Minasyan, AASA online technologies director. “It has been a professional honor to engage with our members at our annual national conference. The superstar superintendents participating at this year’s Social Media Lounge know that it is critical that the positive stories being generated by their learning communities must be conveyed to their audiences and one way to do that is through their social media platforms. We are looking forward to covering the latest trends in 21st-century digital communications.”
“A strong social media presence is not a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have in today’s public education landscape,” said Juli Valentine, AASA digital content editor. “Superintendents and staff attending our conference will have a chance to learn from an outstanding lineup of school system leaders as they gain hands-on social media assistance, make solid connections and take advantage of networking opportunities with peers who are leading the way in today’s communications and social media space.”
Attendees can engage with their peers online by using the hashtag #NCE2023 in their Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram posts. They are also encouraged to join AASA’s NCE Facebook Group as another means for staying connected.
AASA’s Social Media Lounge is graciously sponsored by: BootUp PD, Inc.; STOPit Solutions; The Urban Assembly; Vecna Technologies (VGo); and the United States Marine Corps.
Regarded as the most comprehensive professional learning and networking event for school superintendents and administrators, AASA’s National Conference on Education addresses the most critical issues affecting public education today, including leading through the COVID-19 pandemic, health and wellness, equity in education, social and emotional learning, personalizing education, technology and school safety.
