Alexandria, Va. – October 13, 2023 – Superintendents and other administrators championing dynamic programs of college, career and life readiness are gathering in Mansfield, Texas, October 16-18, as part of AASA, The School Superintendents Association’s Redefining Ready! Cohort 2023 Fall Meeting. The Mansfield Independent School District (MISD) is serving as the host site.

The Redefining Ready! initiative introduces research-based metrics to appropriately assess whether students are ready to pursue their lifelong goals and dreams following post-secondary education.

“Learners can’t be what they can’t see. In order to plant ideas, aspirations and dreams into the minds of our students so they can succeed following high school graduation, we, as educators, must provide real-world opportunities for these learners to gain the necessary experience now. That’s what Redefining Ready! is all about.”

That’s what Redefining Ready! is all about,” said David R. Schuler, executive director, AASA. “I congratulate the superintendents and their teams who will be joining us at the Mansfield Independent School District for our fall cohort meeting. The knowledge gained and shared by district leaders will not only benefit them and the students they serve but our host district as well.”

“On behalf of the Mansfield family, we are so proud that our district has a strong Redefining Ready! program. We want to look at areas of academics, careers and equally as important, life-ready indicators to ensure that students are college, career and life ready when they leave here,” said Kimberley Cantu, superintendent, MISD. “District leaders joining us for this meeting will see firsthand that these students own their college, career and life-ready skills. It is an honor to work with AASA to host this fall meeting which will bring in district leaders from across the country. We will learn from them as they will learn from us.”
