Harnessing Collective Expertise: New AASA Cohort Brings Together the Transformational Leadership Consortium, Innovative Districts Empowering All Learners Cohort and STEM Leadership Consortium

August 30, 2024

AASA is thrilled to unveil the Innovation for Transformation Consortium, a new collaborative of the Transformational Leadership Consortium (TLC), Innovative Districts Empowering All Learners (IDEAL) Cohort, and STEM Leadership Consortium.

By unifying these three cohorts, AASA can harness the collective power and expertise of these groups to better equip our participating districts with the skills needed to lead future-driven systems, create student-centered learning environments and enhance STEM education to holistically transform our students' learning experience.

The Innovation for Transformation Consortium is designed to inspire and support educational leaders in driving dynamic change, combining expertise in transformational leadership, innovative and personalized student learning experiences, and STEM education to create powerful opportunities for growth and advancement in schools across the nation.

Consortium participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop in key areas that are critical to leading and sustaining educational innovation, including:

  • Transformational Leadership Practices: Gain insights into how to lead transformative change within your district, focusing on strategies that drive meaningful improvements in student outcomes and overall district performance.
  • Innovative Instructional Strategies: Explore cutting-edge and personalized approaches to curriculum and instruction that engage students, foster creativity, and provide access to the diverse learning experiences and opportunities our students need.
  • Advancing STEM Education: Delve into the latest trends and best practices in STEM education, including how to develop robust STEM programs that inspire students and prepare them for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Collaborative Leadership and Systems Thinking: Understand the importance of collaborative leadership and systems thinking in driving district-wide innovation, and how to build strong teams that are aligned around a shared vision for success.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation Cycles: Learn how to implement and sustain a culture of continuous improvement within your district, using data-driven strategies to iterate and enhance educational practices.

The Consortium will meet in person on October 6-8, 2024 at Indian Hill Exempted Village Schools in Ohio for a unique site visit experience to explore essential questions like:

  • How does a strategic plan become a driving force for change at the student level rather than a document in name only?
  • What role do strategic partnerships play in furthering curricular and out-of-school opportunities for students?
  • How does STEM extend beyond Science Technology Engineering Math to a cultural shift about the way that students think and interact with curriculum and each other?
