School Meals Webinar for Superintendents and School Business Officials: Procurement, Funding, & Optimizing Nutrition Benefits for Students

USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service, in partnership with AASA, The Superintendents Association, and ASBO International, invites you to join this webinar to learn more about recent changes to school meal programs, which provide nearly 30 million children with the nutrition they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

This session will:

• Provide updates on how USDA is working with school food industry partners to ensure schools have the products they need to meet the new nutrition standards.

• Provide an overview of recent updates that impact procurement, including the Buy American requirement and efforts to simplify local food purchasing.

• Review funding opportunities available to support schools as they prepare for updates to nutrition standards, which will gradually reduce added sugars and sodium in meals over the next several years.

Time will be allotted for attendees to ask questions and provide live feedback during the webinar.
