Healthy Schools Campaign Webinar- How Medicaid Cuts Will Harm Students & Schools

Congress is considering substantial cuts to Medicaid that would negatively impact student access to health services, particularly mental and behavioral healthcare. To assess the potential impact of these cuts on school health services, resources and funding, Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC), AASA, Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), National Alliance for Medicaid in Education (NAME) and Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) distributed a survey to school districts across the country, and we are thrilled to share that we met our goal in collecting over 1,400 responses representing all 50 states. 

 

On Wednesday, March 12 at 3pm ET, Healthy Schools Campaign is hosting a webinar to discuss the survey results in conjunction with the release of a new report that details the findings and trends they found across school districts in how they use school Medicaid funding and how they anticipate cuts would impact their students and communities. The data is a powerful testament to the deeply embedded and essential role Medicaid funding plays in schools and what is at stake if the program is cut by Congress.
