State of the Superintendency
Nearly 46 percent of all first-time superintendents are likely when appointed to be between ages of 41 and 50, according to the latest AASA decennnial study of the superintendency.
Similar to the 2010 study, 13 percent of respondents were less
than 36 years of age when they became superintendents. Nearly 8 percent were 56 and older at the time of the first appointment.
