Students and families have a lot of options today. Between school choice programs, independent and charter schools and virtual programs, parents have come to expect top-notch service and are willing to leave public schools if they don’t receive it.

As chief customer officer for K12 Insight, I’ve talked to hundreds of school district leaders who are facing an increase in staff and student churn, volatile school boards and trust deficits in a politicized environment. When discussing their challenges, I always ask this: What are you doing to ensure you’re delivering superior customer service in your school district?
