What do superintendents see as the factors that most significantly hamper their effectiveness on the job?
In a survey of self-reported factors, the superintendents pointed to politics by a rather substantial margin. Almost 88 percent of the
851 respondents to AASA’s most recent study of the superintendency selected this factor. Following in second and third were, respectively, the emergence of social media and traditional media.
