Reflecting on the enduring ideas from Heifetz and Linsky's Leadership on the Line, this article examines the contemporary challenges school leaders face, such as political and cultural tensions. It emphasizes the need for leaders to act as "edge-walkers," navigating complex environments to find points of convergence and foster collaboration. Enhancing legal literacy among educators is highlighted as a key strategy to empower them in addressing these challenges while maintaining educational integrity. By building bridges and fostering partnerships, school leaders can better support their communities and navigate today’s contentious educational landscape.
