September 28, 2023

In partnership with AASA, The School Superintendents Association, UndauntedK12 and RMI are hosting a webinar on the opportunities for superintendents, school board members and state policymakers to improve school HVAC systems using new financial resources from the Inflation Reduction Act. Monica Goldson, previous chief executive officer of Prince George’s County (Md.) Public Schools, will share her experiences leading climate-smart HVAC investments at a district level.

The webinar will share key ideas from HVAC Choices for Student Health and Learning, which makes the case for moving to modern HVAC equipment in our schools and offers a non-technical audience guidance for decision-making in this area. The session will feature:
  1. evidence on the impact of indoor environments (e.g. temperature) on student health and learning,
  2. the benefits of moving to modern HVAC technology
  3. a case study that highlights the learnings and lessons from Prince George’s County Public Schools as the district pivoted towards clean energy investments
  4. details on new uncapped, non-competitive federal incentives which have transformed the economic feasibility of modern HVAC systems for the next decade.

Presenters
Monica Goldson, retired CEO, Prince George's County (Md.) Public Schools
