State of the Superintendency

Superintendents across a wide range of school districts believe their work today is valued, according to 211 responses in a spring 2022 survey managed by RAND.

With no less than 82 percent reported in any subgroup (district demographics, poverty, enrollment size), superintendents agreed or strongly agreed with this statement: “I feel like my work as a superintendent is valued.”
