An assistant superintendent for instruction in a suburban community learns from her weekly newspaper that her physical therapist is running for the school board. The candidate does not respond to interview requests from the local newspaper so his reasons for running are not listed. Online searches, however, reveal he’s running as someone who wants to “eliminate ‘woke’ ideology from our schools.” Because the assistant superintendent disagrees with the candidate’s political views and opposes his candidacy for the school board, does she have an ethical duty to change therapists?
