School bus electrification: How to navigate EPA Round 2 and design a successful project
February 28, 2023
Round 2 of the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program is opening soon. This round will be a competitive application process (rather than another lottery), which will take advantage of high-quality proposals designed to compete within the program's rules and demonstrate things like a relevant experience, high likelihood of project success, and cost share.
Highland Electric Fleets has the most experience competing for electric school bus grants and deploying electric fleets in the United States. Highland policy experts Matt Stanberry and Amy McGuire will join Tim Shannon, Director of Facilities Planning & Efficiency at Twin Rivers Unified School District in California, to answer all your EPA and electrification questions.
Topics covered will include:
- What to expect in Round 2 of the CSBP: how the program is likely to be structured, and what you’ll need to demonstrate in order to win funding
- How to get ahead on planning a competitive application – what materials you should start compiling now
- What’s involved in a successful electric school bus deployment – a look at the full scope of electrification, with lessons learned on the ground
- Who you’ll need to engage in the process
