State of the Superintendency
Twenty percent of superintendents nationwide said they were daily users of social media, though urban superintendents were far more likely than others to report such usage. Another 24 percent said they rarely check their social media accounts and rarely
post or respond to anything, according to AASA’s nationwide survey of more than 1,100 superintendents.
Nearly seven of 10 superintendents indicated that social media was very helpful or moderately helpful to the day-to-day work of
the district. Four percent reported social media were very disruptive.
