State of the Superintendency
Few superintendents use all their contractually entitled time off.
According to a recent survey of superintendents in New York state, 59 percent use 15 days or fewer of their annual leave, and one in five use 10 days or fewer per year. More than
70 percent of the superintendents receive at least 21 vacation days annually.
Fifty-two percent of the 471 survey respondents indicated they were permitted to accumulate at least 21 days of unused leave.
