AASA Learning Recovery & Redesign Guidance
November 12, 2021
This first installment of AASA's Learning Recovery & Redesign Guidance was developed in collaboration with EducationCounsel as a complement to the AASA American Rescue Plan (ARP) Committee to support school superintendents in the important work of investing ARP and ESSER dollars.
The guidance is focused on an important question: How can districts ensure they are using all available resources — especially ESSER funds — to meet immediate needs and at the same time redesign toward a more student-centered, equity-focused, and future-driven approach?
This initial part of the AASA Learning Recovery & Redesign Guidance focuses on four Guiding Principles that should manifest across district plans:
- Plant Seeds
- Center Equity
- Use & Build Knowledge
- Sustain Strategically
These tools can help you reflect on how your current plan aligns with each principle and identify ways to improve over time, especially through the SY22-23 budget cycle.
