School Safety Summit

Participation & Registration:

Summit registration is complimentary for up to 20 districts on a first come, first served basis.

AASA will provide lodging, meals, and travel reimbursement up to $650* for one (1) superintendent or one (1) business official and one (1) safety lead from each participating district.
*Receipts required for reimbursement

We ask that there are two participants from each district.

School Safety Summit: Prevention, Mitigation, Response, Recovery

AASA, The School Superintendents Association, and Sourcewell, AASA's government cooperative procurement partner, are hosting a 3-day summit designed to provide resources and tools to effectively plan and institute or enhance school safety.

This event will not only demonstrate the effectiveness collaborative school safety initiatives have on reducing violence and cultivating a supportive school atmosphere, but it will also equip participants with a deep understanding of data-driven industry trends and the implementation of school safety initiatives through hands-on workshops with industry leaders and experts, ensuring participants leave with actionable takeaways and resources.

Topics to be covered at the Summit include:

  • Exploring the four pillars of School Safety: Prevention, Mitigation, Response and Recovery
  • How to combine the tenets of the four pillars into a sustainable, organic and effective school district safety initiative
  • Discovering the common – and lesser known – factors that can lead to school violence
  • Understanding the universal impact of violence in district school buildings
